2013 kia carens Review Price Engine Specifications

welcome to Neonista.blogspot.com website that provides a variety of information about the latest cars in the world. and this time we will share information about the 2013 kia carens , Review, Price, Engine, Specifications, the following information

It builds on the functionality and versatility of the original Kia Carens, with a spacious five or five-plus-two seating layout, a generously proportioned luggage bay and numerous stowage spaces, but wraps this family-friendly adaptability in more purposeful sheet metal.
"I wanted to give the new Carens a sleeker look and feel, to create a design that envelops its functionality and versatility in something altogether more athletic and dynamic," says Peter Schreyer, Kias Chief Design Officer.
"This new-found visual dynamism is important - this car needs to look appealing and attractive - but during its design and development stages, we never lost sight of the fact that its packaging flexibility and adaptability are why people buy these cars," explains Schreyer.
Both Schreyer and Gregory Guillaume, Kias Chief Designer Europe, are candid when discussing the design of the Kia Carens. "A vehicle like the Carens is probably one of the hardest of all to get right because we are very tightly constrained by the cars functionality," says Guillaume. "That packaging versatility cannot in any way be compromised by the design of the car because to do so would eradicate the cars raison dêtre."
Schreyer and Guillaumes team created subtle styling cues to enhance the Kia Carens elegant and balanced proportions and deliver an air of sophistication and refinement.
As an example Schreyer singles out the understated chrome strip that runs from the base of the windscreen, along the lower level of windows and curls up to meet the C-pillar. "This not only adds a premium feel to the clean-cut exterior, but also creates a visual link with the new Sportage, which features the same design motif," he explains.

Similarly, the Kia Carens design team worked hard on ensuring the front and rear overhangs were kept as short as possible to boost manoeuvrability when parking and negotiating city traffic.
Neat touches abound - the integrated roof rails, the sleek rear spoiler, the three-way split second-row seats that feature individual fore and aft adjustment, and Kias tactile new steering wheel.
"With its nigh-perfect balance of proportion, style and functionality, the distinctive new Carens marks yet another successful and stylish step for Kias global design team," says Schreyer proudly. "Theres a design honesty here - the Kia Carens is neither over-dressed nor does it feature contrived design elements. Its a car cleanly and elegantly defined by its functionality."source:netcarshow.com

2013 Kia Soul Review Price Engine Specifications
welcome to Neonista.blogspot.com website that provides a variety of information about the latest cars in the world. and this time we will share information about the 2013 Kia Soul, the following information
The 2013 Kia Soul might be inexpensive, but this certainly doesnt mean its cheap. Even for the entry-level model, you get solid build quality, a peppy direct-injected engine and an audio system that boasts satellite radio and an iPod hookup. Available two-tone interior color schemes, houndstooth-print upholstery and illuminated audio speakers bring welcome touches of personality not expected from cars in this price range. Furthermore, the more expensive versions of Kias crossover offer even stronger performance.
As expected, the Soul scores well in the EPAs fuel economy testing, and an optional Eco package allows the 2.0-liter engine to achieve the same mileage estimates as the 1.6-liter. The magic happens thanks to low-rolling-resistance tires and stop/start technology that automatically shuts off the engine when you come to a stoplight and restarts it as soon as you lift your foot off the brake pedal.
With such a compelling blend of style, practicality, affordability and features -- and lets not forget its 10-year/100,000-mile powertrain warranty -- the 2013 Kia Soul stands firm as one of our top picks for a small hatchback. That said, there are other choices you might want to check out.

Exterior
Featuring a rounded front end thats reminiscent of a Mini Cooper, the Soul has short front and rear overhangs and a fairly raked windshield. Exterior features include:
- LED daytime running lights
- LED taillights
- Standard 15-inch wheels
- Optional 16- and 18-inch wheels
- Optional moonroof
- Optional rear spoiler and fog lights

Interior
The Soul has seating for up to five with its front bucket seats and rear bench seat. The bench seat is split and can be folded down to expand the cargo area. Interior features include:
- Standard air conditioning, tilt steering wheel and CD stereo with USB and auxiliary inputs
- Standard cloth seats
- Available Infinity premium stereo
- Available Uvo hands-free communication and entertainment system
- Available cruise control, keyless entry and height-adjustable drivers seat
- Premium Package adds leather upholstery, heated front seats, automatic air conditioning, a navigation system (replaces Uvo) and push-button start

Under the Hood
The Souls base engine is a 1.6-liter four-cylinder that makes 138 horsepower and works with a six-speed manual transmission. There is an available 164-hp, 2.0-liter four-cylinder with a six-speed manual or optional six-speed automatic. Mechanical features include:
- Uses regular gas
- Front-wheel drive

The front-wheel-drive Kia Soul is offered with two different engines. The base Soul gets a 1.6-liter four-cylinder with 138 horsepower and 123 pound-feet of torque. A six-speed manual transmission is standard (including a hill-start assist function) and a six-speed automatic is optional. EPA mileage estimates stand at 27 mpg city/35 mpg highway and 30 mpg combined regardless of transmission choice.
Soul+ and ! models get a 2.0-liter four-cylinder that puts out a healthy 164 hp and 148 lb-ft of torque. Transmission choices are the same as the base model, but the Soul! is automatic only. In Edmunds performance testing, a Soul! went from zero to 60 mph in 8.8 seconds -- a strong time for this class. EPA-estimated fuel economy is 26/34/29 regardless of transmission. This rises to 27/35/30 with the 2.0 Eco package. All of the Souls fuel economy estimates are better than other funky hatchbacks like the Nissan Cube and Scion xB, but fall a bit short of more conventional small hatchbacks.

Safety
Standard safety equipment for all 2013 Kia Soul models includes four-wheel antilock disc brakes, stability control, traction control, front-seat side airbags, side curtain airbags and active front head restraints. Hill-start assist is also now standard across the lineup. In government crash tests, the Soul earned an overall score of four stars (out of five), with four stars for overall frontal impact protection and five stars for overall side impact protection. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded the Soul its highest score of "Good" in its frontal offset, side-impact and roof-strength tests.
Driving Impressions
With plenty of power on tap, the 2013 Kia Soul is enjoyable around town and confident when merging onto a freeway. However, while theres ample power with the 1.6-liter engine, we still think most buyers will be happier with the gutsy 164-hp 2.0-liter, especially since the difference in fuel economy is so small. Both the six-speed manual and automatic transmissions are well-matched to either engine. In terms of handling, the Soul doesnt offer the sort of zippy agility found in the Chevy Sonic or Ford Fiesta, but the Kia isnt a soft snooze-mobile like the Nissan Cube either. The steering has a reassuring weightiness to its effort level at highway speeds, while the response proves crisp and linear on a twisting road. The brake pedal has a reassuringly firm feel. The ride is a bit firm over bumps and ruts, especially on models fitted with the handsome 18-inch cast-aluminum wheels.
